No. 30 – Live on my own

Crossed off the list 07/08/2011

At the beginning of this semester, I decided I was well enough to leave the nest (thanks Mum & Joe for letting me stay for 7 months – you guys are champions!), and make my way back out into the big wide world. I decided to try living on my own for the first time in my life (i.e. living with strangers; no one I knew or was in a relationship with)…so with Muggy in tow, we found a place in Arundel on the notice board at uni that would take us both (we are a package deal, the little Mug-man and I!)

I have to admit, I was a bit terrified at first – in fact, I cried pretty hard the first night I moved in because I realised that I didn’t have any butter or other pantry basics (I think I was just a little overwhelmed). But each day I got better and better, and I even started to relish living on my own – the feeling of freedom is indescribable! I’m so glad and thankful I did it.

Since then, I have met some new people and have moved in with them – I now have four housemates (all uni students like me), and we all get along amazingly! They love Muggy and give him lots of attention, which makes my heart soar. I’m also happy that I feel so settled and content in my new home – and it really does feel like home!
